How We Choose Products
Last updated October 3, 2026
This page explains how we research products for our buying guides, what we do not do, and the limits of our approach.
How we research
- We start with the reader’s need (for example “glass containers for weekly meal prep”) and write down the criteria that matter for that need: safety information, how easy it is to use and clean, durability signals, size and fit, and value.
- We read manufacturers’ published specifications and instructions, and official safety information such as recall notices where relevant.
- We compare products against the same criteria so that readers can see differences clearly.
What we do not claim
- We do not say a product has been hands-on tested unless the article states what was tested and how. Most guides on this site are based on published specifications and research, and they say so.
- We do not publish star ratings, awards or review counts that we have not earned or cannot verify.
- We do not display prices. Prices and availability change; check the retailer’s page.
Limits
Specifications can be incomplete or change without notice, and products vary by seller and batch. A guide is a starting point for your own decision, not a guarantee. For items related to babies and children, check current recall notices and follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
